Privacy Policy
SketchPath ("we", "our", "the app") is a drawing education app published by Chenglin Wu, operating under the brand name "SketchPath". This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and what choices you have.
Short version: SketchPath does not collect names, email addresses, or contact information; does not have user accounts; does not track you across other apps or websites; and does not sell or share your data with advertisers. The only data leaving your device is your purchase information, which Apple and our subscription-management provider RevenueCat handle so we can recognize your subscription. Your drawings, progress, and settings stay on your device.
1. Information We Handle
1.1 Information stored locally on your device
The app stores the following on your device only. None of this is uploaded to our servers.
- Lesson progress: which lessons you completed, your current streak, total drawings.
- Portfolio: portfolio images you save, plus metadata such as the capture date, source, and related prompt or lesson title.
- Practice records: durations and modes of your practice sessions.
- App settings: appearance preference, daily reminder time, and onboarding choices.
You can permanently remove all of this by deleting the app.
1.2 Information processed by RevenueCat
If you start a subscription or one-time purchase, we use RevenueCat to verify and synchronize your subscription status across your Apple devices. RevenueCat receives:
- An anonymous user identifier generated by RevenueCat.
- The transaction receipt issued by Apple.
- Subscription status changes such as purchased, renewed, expired, or refunded.
RevenueCat acts as a data processor on our behalf. Their privacy policy is available at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
1.3 Information Apple processes
When you make a purchase, the transaction is processed by Apple. Apple's handling of your payment information is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.
1.4 Information we do not collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit your name, email address, phone number, postal address, location, contacts, calendar, microphone audio, biometric data, browsing history, activity in other apps, advertising identifier, or analytics events linked to your identity.
2. How We Use Information
Information is used solely to provide the features you see in the app:
- Render the right next lesson based on your progress.
- Display your streak and drawing count.
- Show your portfolio.
- Send a daily local notification at the time you chose, if enabled.
- Honor your subscription tier and unlock Level 2 and higher premium lessons.
We do not use information for advertising, profiling, or training machine-learning models.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. The only parties that receive any data are Apple, for App Store delivery and In-App Purchases, and RevenueCat, for subscription status synchronization.
We do not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or social network SDKs.
4. Camera, Photos, and Notifications
These features are entirely opt-in. When you first use them, iOS asks for your permission.
- Camera: used only when you tap a button to take a photo of a drawing for your portfolio. Photos are saved locally in the app's storage.
- Photo Library: when you choose a reference photo, the system Photos picker shows your library inside an Apple-managed surface. The app only receives the image you confirm.
- Notifications: used only to send your daily practice reminder at the time you chose. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
5. Your Choices
- Delete a single portfolio item from the Portfolio tab.
- Delete the app to remove local data from your device.
- Cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings under your Apple ID subscriptions.
- Request refunds through Apple at https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Ask what RevenueCat has about your purchase by emailing moz1131125@gmail.com.
- Turn off reminders in the app or in iOS Settings.
6. Children's Privacy
SketchPath is suitable for general audiences and is rated 4+ in the App Store. We do not knowingly collect from children, including children under 13, any names, email addresses, contact information, or user-generated content. The app contains no advertising, no chat, and no user-to-user features.
7. Data Retention
- Local data on your device: retained until you delete an item in-app or delete the app entirely.
- Apple purchase records: retained by Apple per its own terms.
- Subscription records held by RevenueCat: retained per RevenueCat's policy.
8. Security
We do not operate a server that stores your personal content. Drawings, progress, and settings sit inside the iOS app sandbox, protected by device-level encryption. Purchase and subscription traffic happens over TLS-encrypted connections managed by iOS frameworks and RevenueCat.
9. International Users
SketchPath is available worldwide through the App Store. Pseudonymous purchase and receipt data handled by Apple and RevenueCat may be transferred and processed globally under their respective policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after the update means you accept the revised policy.
